Hi everyone, hope you had a great Christmas without too many cares. Sadly, sometimes Christmas is far from care-free, with the costs and stresses of getting some people down so much that you can almost forget that it's a time to celebrate. And when it takes that extra time to finally get into the spirit of it, it can be over in the blink of an eye, just as you're starting to enjoy it.

Don't you wish there was some way to keep Christmas with you throughout the year AND be sure you'll be ready for it when December rolls around? Well, guess what, there is! From the bottom of my heart, I can recommend the Chrisco Christmas hamper club...

Chrisco hampers offer you all the food, accessories and gifts you could possibly need. With a little bit of planning, you can spend the year paying off supplies little by little. You will hardly notice that the money has gone each week, but come Christmas time, it will all add up to a wonderful hamper of Christmas goods being delievered to your house. The sooner you order and start paying, the smaller your weekly/fortnightly/mothly (whatever suits you best) payments will be.

The full range of hamper choices can be viewed online, or you can request a catalogue by calling 1800 144 662.

It may sound like a well-worn advertising slogan, but never a truer word was spoken than when they say you really can save for a magical Christmas with Chrisco.

I am not a troll, nor do I make any profit from posting this. I simply believe in this program, and think you will too if you give it a go. This is not spam.

Fashion Recycle [Oct. 13th, 2010|04:34 pm]

I've started a community called Fashion Recycle where you can sell your unwanted fashion pieces, locally! I got the idea from a similar blog in Europe, and was surprised that there is no equivalent here.. Naturally there's not too much happening yet as it's a new community, so please spread the word and post your no longer loved fashion items!

I look forward to your posts... I need your support!

Australian/British run Positive News Website [Mar. 8th, 2009|12:55 pm]

NotNegativeNews is a new News site. For positive news only. People can submit things to it, to share the good things happening in the world, and to cheer people up. We believe that the world is still a positive place- and that no, not all positive news involves kittens.

Like a real newspaper it has some sections that aren't really 'news'. Such as the Reviews section. Is there something going on where you are right now, that you went to and greatly enjoyed? We're after your positive reviews. It's easy to submit, you don't have to join- you can do so anonymously. Just give us a title, and your review, and any relevant links if you have any. It'll be great to be able to go to N3 and see what people have enjoyed.

You can review anything else too. Restaurants, attractions, anywhere in the world. Also movies, books, music... really, anything that could possibly be reviewed.

Or you could submit many other things to the site, such as things about travel to go in the lifestyle section. Or some news stories you've seen around. It's got lots of Australian news as that's where I'm from- want to help me out? It's hard to put up lots of news with just two of us. I'd love it to be a resource for 'things to do' around the world. And to not be US centric like so many news sites. I want something global.

Also if you have a news story, such as something great you or someone you know, is up to, feel free to tell us, and we'll try to write a story on you. Or you can write it yourself and submit it! You can also comment anonymously if you have any thoughts on any of the articles.

And if you like the site, please, pass it on to your friends, stumble it, post it in your LJ, whatever you can do- we'd really love to make this popular and useful.

QLD woman sues Lorne surf carnival over volunteer first aid; says it was assault [Feb. 20th, 2009|10:05 pm]

Queensland woman sues Lorne surf carnival over volunteer first aid; says it was assault

Suing ... Brodie Cambourne claims a first aid volunteer permanently damaged her shoulder / Herald Sun
  • Woman given emergency treatment
  • Claims volunteers damaged her shoulder
  • Launched legal action, seeking compensation

This disgusts me, how will SLA and St Johns be able to work if they run the risk of being sued if and when the treatment they provide doesn't work.

Look at the time, 1984 already! [Nov. 3rd, 2008|01:38 pm]

My boyfriend sent this letter regarding the proposed internet filter to our local member here in Perth, but felt it necessary to get the word out.  There were protests this past weekend, though the one in Perth was not well-attended.

Sorry if this isn't allowed here - mods feel free to delete.  This has been cross-posted to numerous Australian communities (so I'm sorry if you see this multiple times!)

Shopandswap4baby.com.au [Jun. 18th, 2008|01:14 pm]

Hi :-)

Since this is a community for all things Aussie I am going to do a little bit of advertising :-D

I have recently started working for a small Australian owned online company called:

It's a great shop that specializes in selling gently worn and new kids clothes from size 0000-6

Now this may not interest those of you without kids, but I am sure you may have friends or family that might find this exciting as it is a great way to buy designer labels in great condition and at a fraction of the original price!

If you can spread the word that would be awesome!

Just curious... [May. 2nd, 2008|07:24 am]
Are there any American ex-pats here? And if so... would you mind talking to me about possible immigration? :)

Munch Bunch Books [Apr. 26th, 2008|07:10 pm]

[mood |searching]

Hi!  I am on a bit of a search and wonder if anyone can help me?

I am trying to find copies of "The Munch Bunch" books  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Munch_Bunch  for my daughter.  They were widely available when I was a kid, but went out of print in the late '80's early '90's.

They have recently become "collector's items" so they are incredibly hard to find.  I am not interested in them for this purpose just for nostalgic reasons and so I can read them to my daughter.

I have checked Ebay and local op-shops to no avail.  Any help for sourcing these great books would be awesome.  Just leave a comment if you have any info.
